Improving Global and Country-Specific Data

The Program develops cross-national and country-specific datasets on public administration aimed at assisting the World Bank Group, development partners, researchers, and policymakers answer questions about the affordability of the wage bill, the design of compensation and employment policies, and the drivers of motivation and productivity of the public sector workforce.

We collaborate with partners to enhance data collection methodologies and systems, thereby improving the quality, accessibility, and comprehensiveness of both global and country-specific datasets related to public administration.

    Produced by the Bureaucracy Lab, this is the most comprehensive global dataset on public sector employment and wages, and is being continuously updated.
