The Program develops cross-national and country-specific datasets on public administration aimed at assisting the World Bank Group, development partners, researchers, and policymakers answer questions about the affordability of the wage bill, the design of compensation and employment policies, and the drivers of motivation and productivity of the public sector workforce.?

We collaborate with partners to enhance data collection methodologies and systems, thereby improving the quality, accessibility, and comprehensiveness of both global and country-specific datasets related to public administration.?

The Bureaucracy Lab is an initiative jointly led by the World Bank¡¯s Institutions Global Department (IGD) and the Development Impact Group (DIME). It seeks to promote the use of evidence and technology in public administration reform. This year marks a decade of enhancing public administration through data-driven insights. We celebrate 10 years of the Bureaucracy Lab!?

The Lab collaborates closely with operational task teams to provide technical support on a range of governance-related issues. It offers data management and advisory services, providing essential tools and guidance for impact evaluation analytics.?
