The Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit, to be held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on January 27-28, 2025, is a landmark gathering focused on accelerating energy access across Africa.

With nearly 600 million people across Africa still lacking electricity, the Summit will highlight the urgent need for reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy to drive economic growth and unlock development across the continent.

Hosted by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, the African Union, the African Development Bank Group, and the World Bank Group, the Summit is an opportunity for governments, private sector leaders, development partners, and civil society to advance the ambitious goal of providing electricity access to 300 million people by 2030 ¨C known as Mission 300 - a target announced by the African Development Bank Group and the World Bank Group in April 2024.

At the Summit, African Heads of State are expected to endorse the Dar es Salaam Energy Declaration, a shared commitment to energy reforms and transformative action across Africa. Several countries will present National Energy Compacts outlining targets and reforms tailored to their unique contexts. By mobilizing substantial development financing, technical expertise, and innovative partnerships, the Summit aims to lay the foundation for a people-centered energy transformation that fuels economic growth, expands opportunities, and lifts millions out of energy poverty.
