On Thursday, April 4th, the World Bank's Coalitions 4 Reforms team hosted a workshop on findings from the ?"Pathways towards power shifts: State-society synergy". Published in "World Development" by Jonathan Fox, Rachel Robinson, and Naomi Hossain, the study uses the state-society synergy approach to analyze exceptional cases when reformers within the state managed to deliver openings for citizen action that tangibly empowered otherwise excluded or marginalized groups. The event was supported by the World Bank's Governance and Institutions Umbrella Program.
