Sahel: Helping Households Build Resilience to Climate Change and Other Disaster-Related Shocks

Carlo del Ninno, Manager of the DFID funded MDTF at the World Bank, discusses a new social protection program to build the resilience of households and communities in the Sahel to climate change. The project focusses on small scale farmers and families reliant on agriculture, and aims to prepare these communities for the effects of climate change. Aimed with the knowledge to improve the environment and surrounding ecosystems, communities are better prepared to deal with the reduced yields and other effects of irregular weather patterns.
