When Aini¡¯s husband passed away, she received a sum of money from an insurance plan they owned. She used the money to set up a small shop that would provide her some income in her old age. In Indonesia, 59 million people, or 54 percent of workers, are working in the informal sector. On average, they earn 42 percent less income and are unlikely to receive worker benefits.
