The important roles of cities are to identify and respond to the needs of citizens and to attract investments for greater livability. Since the onset of COVID-19, exploring diverse work modalities, learning opportunities, new ways of entertainment, while ensuring safety has become a new norm. In response, cities need to remain agile and understand the diverse needs of their citizens by collecting and analyzing data that can inform policy changes and are responsive to these lifestyle changes.
(ASCC), hosted by Yokohama City, is an international conference that brings together both private and public sector stakeholders from Japan and abroad to discuss the future vision of urban development and smart cities. The theme of this year¡¯s conference includes (i) Decarbonization (ii) SDGs/Voluntary Local Review (VLR)/Well-being Index and (iii) Smart Cities.
Å·ÃÀÈÕb´óƬ Tokyo Development Learning Center (TDLC) has been collaborating with Yokohama City for ASCC under TDLC¡¯s City Partnership Program (CPP). TDLC has been invited by Yokohama City to moderate the session titled ¡°Designing Agile Cities for Greater Livability¡±, where Venter will present about Sustainable Cities Implementation Framework with the case of Zagreb, Croatia.
This session will introduce domestic and international approaches and examples on ways to design an agile city that is responsive to the local needs for greater livability. The speakers will showcase the tools that are applied and have contributed to new service provisions by cities. The session will provide lessons learned and key recommendations from case studies.
