World Bank Disaster Risk Management Specialists, Brenden Jongman and Shoko Takemoto, participated in a virtual workshop hosted by the led by the Ministry of Land Infrastructure Transport and Tourism (MLIT) Japan, where they presented the World Bank¡¯s ¡°Global Experience of strengthening resilience through Green Infrastructure.¡± World Bank¡¯s efforts on through knowledge development and technical support were showcased. The session was livestreamed to the public and made available on the GI platform website for their members¡¯ access. More than 350 viewers were connected to the livestream and the presentation received more than 990 views (as of February 2021).
The GI Platform in Japan is a new initiative that started in March 2020, and aims to connect national government, local governments, private sector, academia, research institutions, etc. to share knowledge and experience, as well as develop a network of professionals on GI. The Tokyo DRM Hub has worked with some of the key stakeholders in this platform during the Technical Deep Dive for Integrated Urban Flood Risk Management and have been participating as an observer in this platform. As of July 2020, they have around 616 members, including individuals, private sector, public agencies, and prefectures and municipal governments. Å·ÃÀÈÕb´óƬ expressed its strong interest to continue the partnership and collaboration with Japanese Green Infrastructure stakeholders to support integrating green and gray solutions to strengthen the resilience of investments in client countries.
