DECRG Kuala Lumpur Seminar Series: Live Long and Prosper- Aging in East Asia and Pacific
September 13, 2016DECRG Kuala Lumpur Seminar Series

Aging is a challenge that countries in the East Asia and Pacific (EAP) region are grappling with or will soon confront. The issue raises many questions for policy makers, ranging from labor-market implications, to potential macroeconomic impacts, to the fiscal challenges of supporting long-term systems for pensions and health care. The urgency of aging-related challenges varies across the region, but successfully meeting the challenges will require early preparation to avoid the missteps of other regions. This seminar based on the book "Live Long and Prosper: Aging in East Asia and Pacific" will discuss the societal and public policy challenges and reform options for EAP countries as they address aging.
