Master Class: Impact Evaluation in Transport & ICT
May 27, 2015Washington, DC - WB Main Complex Preston Auditorium

Transport and ICT represents a third of multilateral development bank lending, but accounts for 0.4 percent of impact evaluation work. This session will lay out the basic concepts and techniques of impact evaluation (IE) in project design. Participants will be engaged during an interactive learning session by working on a case study. This master class will preview the official launch of the new “IE Connect for Impact” (ICI) Program in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on June 22, 2015. This event is jointly sponsored by the T&I GP and DEC/DIME as a partnership to better understand the economics of transport and ICT interventions.

Development Impact Evaluation (DIME) is a global program hosted in the World Bank's Development Research Group. Its purpose is to increase the use of impact evaluation in the design and implementation of public policy and increase institutional capacity and motivation for evidence-based policy.
