Han Fraeters is the World Bank's Country Manager for Niger, based in Niamey. Prior to his appointment, Han Fraeters was the World Bank Country Manager for the Central African Republic
A Belgian national, Mr. Fraeters joined the World Bank Group in 2003. He was previously responsible for the World Bank¡¯s analytical and advisory services portfolio in Operations Policy and Country Services Department in Washington. He also managed the accreditation and training program for World Bank Task Team Leaders.
Before joining the World Bank, Han Fraeters was a digital transformation specialist in the education sector in Europe. He has worked closely with governments, various public and private education operators in many European countries to implement the European Commission's digitization and cooperation policies.
Han Fraeters holds a MA in Philology and a post-graduate degree in Media and Information Sciences from the Catholic University of Leuven.
