Abdullah Gabriel Alroomi has been the World Bank Group (WBG) Alternate Executive Director for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (EDS22) since October 2024, where he plays a role in shaping international financial policies and advancing multilateral cooperation. Mr. Alroomi brings a decade of experience in global economic governance, energy policy, and multilateral negotiations.
Mr. Alroomi has held several influential advisory positions, including Executive Advisor to Saudi Arabia¡¯s Minister of Finance, Advisor to the WBG Saudi Executive Director, International Policy Specialist at the Saudi Ministry of Energy, and Advisor at the G20 Saudi Secretariat. Throughout his career, he has represented Saudi Arabia¡¯s interests in global forums, fostering collaboration and building consensus on critical economic, energy, and development issues.
Mr. Alroomi earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder and continued his studies at the University of Oregon, where he completed a Master of Science in Economics. He is married and has three children.
