Annual and Sick Leave
To promote work-life balance, we have generous leave policies, including 26 days of annual leave and 15 days of sick leave per year for new staff.
We support staff with families through our parental leave program, which offers 100 days for primary and 50 days for secondary caregivers.
Benefits for International and Third Country Nationals
We provide strong support for internationally recruited staff and Third Country Nationals working in local country offices. This includes relocation and resettlement benefits, as well as mobility premiums and global mobility benefits, for certain staff.

We care for the health and safety of staff and dependents, including domestic partners, through top-quality insurance programs, including medical, retirement, life, disability, worker¡¯s compensation, and more.

Flexibility
We are pleased to offer flexible work arrangements to help our staff balance work and personal lives, including telecommuting, alternate and reduced work schedules, flextime, job sharing, and home-based work.
Our on-site Health and Safety Directorate (HSD) at headquarters provides consultation and clinical services related to work assignments, such as travel medicine and pre-assignment medical clearance. We also offer a Health Promotion Program with ongoing activities to encourage good health habits for staff and their families.
We recognize that for many staff quality childcare is a high priority. Our Children¡¯s Center at headquarters provides high quality services in Washington, D.C.
To promote and maintain good health and well-being, we offer a fitness center at headquarters, fully supplied with state-of-the-art exercise equipment, locker rooms, showers, saunas, and exercise studios.
Rooms for nursing mothers are available in a number of World Bank offices.
