• Global Overview: In the third quarter of 2024, global tourism grew by 7% year-on-year (y/y), surpassing other services sectors, driven by easing inflation despite geopolitical uncertainty. 
• Regional Overview: From July to September 2024, all regions experienced y/y growth in air passenger arrivals, led by East Asia and the Pacific.
• Special Policy Insert: Medical tourism can address development challenges and bring positive spillovers, particularly in middle-income countries. This bulletin provides examples and best practices.
