Å·ÃÀÈÕb´óƬ has supported the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action since 2018, and jointly with the IMF hosts the Coalition Secretariat providing administrative, logistical, and technical support to the Coalition and Co-Chairs in achieving its objectives. WB-managed trust funds have channeled over US$7 million in Bank-executed grant funding to support the activities of the Coalition Secretariat. The most recent allocation is thanks to generous contributions from Germany¡¯s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Switzerland¡¯s State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), and the Netherlands¡¯ Ministry of Finance.

The Climate Support Facility (CSF) 2024 Annual Report showcases the progress and results achieved in supporting over 110 countries to accelerate climate action, strengthen enabling environments, and boost climate investments. Since its inception, the CSF has enabled the development of 113 climate-informed policies, supported $27.2 billion in World Bank lending, and provided technical assistance through 327 grants. Key focus areas include advancing Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), whole-of-economy approaches, and targeted interventions like green recovery and methane reduction. Backed by six donor partners, the CSF continues to drive systemic, economy-wide changes for a sustainable future.

About the Program

The CSF is a multi-donor trust fund administered by the World Bank that supports developing countries to achieve a green economic recovery from the impacts of COVID-19, implement their NDCs, and develop long-term climate strategies.

What is a Green Recovery?

A green recovery is an inclusive response to the COVID-19 crisis that mainstreams climate considerations into short-term economic recovery, and promotes climate neutral and resilient economic transformation aligned with the Paris Agreement.
