Border closures, social distancing measures, and economic lockdowns are among the standard and immediate policies being implemented in the fight against COVID-19. The impact on labor markets¡ªespecially on migrant workers and their employers¡ªhas been swift and severe. In this e-seminar on May 7, 2020, Fr¨¦d¨¦ric Docquier discussed the experience of Luxembourg, a small high-income country heavily reliant on cross-border labor flows, while Michal Rutkowski explored the challenges facing migrants and their families due to the outbreak, the policy options available to governments, and the assistance the World Bank can offer.
