On July 2, 2018, World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim and United Nations Secretary-General Ant¨®nio Guterres came to Bangladesh to see the world¡¯s fastest-growing refugee crisis firsthand. Since August 2017, more than 700,000 Rohingya have fled violence in Myanmar and found shelter at Kutupalong Camp in Cox's Bazar --the largest refugee camp in the world. More refugees arrive every day. Kim and Guterres said the Government of Bangladesh has done the world a great service by keeping its borders open and supporting the refugees, but the responsibility should not be Bangladesh¡¯s alone. Å·ÃÀÈÕb´óƬ will provide up to $480 million in grant-based assistance, but more help is needed from the international community.
