Å·ÃÀÈÕb´óƬ¡¯s $211 million Assam Agricultural Competitiveness Project has helped poor farmers to invest in shallow tube wells, plant high-yielding seeds, and employ better farming techniques. As a result, the volume of crops being brought to market has increased eight-fold, milk and fish production have grown markedly, and rice yields have doubled, making Assam self-sufficient in rice for the first time in decades.
