Africa is home to 145 million adolescent girls today - a number projected to represent one-third of the world¡¯s adolescent girls by 2050. Investing in the potential of adolescent girls is crucial for the continent¡¯s future. Yet, half of 15- to 19-year-old girls in Africa are out of school, married, or have children, highlighting the urgent need for action.
On November 21, the World Bank, in partnership with the Center for Global Development (CGD) and the Population Council, will launch a new report ¡°¡±, offering a road map for change.
The discussion will bring together policy makers, youth representatives, private sector leaders, practitioners, and researchers to share insights and priority actions to set adolescent girls on the path to prosperity, positioning them as key drivers of Africa's future.
