Climate change impacts are already underway in countries around the world, impacting economies and people in diverse ways. Sustainable solutions to mitigating carbon emissions and adapting to climate change require inclusive approaches that draw on women¡¯s proven capacities in climate leadership, expand access for women to climate finance and climate planning processes, and support local innovations for resilient livelihoods and green pathways for development.
This event will explore how public, private and civil society actors are working to catalyze green solutions that support climate and gender equality goals simultaneously, including by:
- Driving gender-transformative green growth that advances women¡¯s economic opportunities, voice and agency
- Fostering women¡¯s role as climate leaders at all levels to meet urgent challenges for human security, financial inclusion, and a Just Transition
- Reforming institutions, expanding climate finance, and broadening collective action measures
